LG washer error codes
OE / E03 / E21 — Drain error
LG lists OE (and the newer displays E03/E21) as a drain error — the washer can’t drain the wash water used in the cycle, from a kinked drain hose or a clogged drain pump filter. IE / E02 / E10 — Water inlet error
LG lists IE (and E02/E10 on newer models) as a water inlet error — the tub did not fill to the proper level in time (water cut off or faucet off, a disconnected/bent supply hose, a frozen supply hose, or a clogged inlet filter). Check the faucets are open and the hoses connected and not kinked; for a hose frozen in winter, follow LG’s guidance for thawing rather than forcing it. UE — Unbalance error
LG lists UE as an unbalance error — the laundry is piled on one side of the drum, so the washer can’t spin properly. Redistribute the load, adjust the load size, and level the washer (adjust the feet).
LE — Tub fails to spin
LG lists LE as the tub failing to spin — the motor can’t operate properly because the washer was overloaded, or a foreign object is stuck in the tub. Check first: unplug, wait 5 minutes, retry; reduce the load (use a bedding cycle for heavy loads); power off and remove any coin or object stuck in the tub. DE / dE1 / dE2 / E01 / E30 — Door error
LG lists these as a door error and splits the family: dE/dE1/E01 means the door is not closed properly (for example, laundry caught between the door and the rubber gasket); dE2/E30 means the door is closed but not locked. Open and re-close the door, then reset the washer (power off, unplug or trip the breaker, hold START/PAUSE 5 s, restore power) and retry. If it continues, LG directs the owner to service — and never bypass the door lock.
CE — Over-current error
LG lists CE as an over-current error — an over-current in the motor’s electrical circuit, caused by a short circuit, loose connection, ground fault, or power surge. Unplug for 10 seconds, plug back in and try a cycle; if it persists, close the water tap, unplug, and arrange service.
Sud — Suds error
LG lists Sud as a suds error: when too many suds are detected, the washer adds a suds-reducing cycle (about 2 hours added) and stops spinning to help prevent leaking. Don’t exceed the recommended detergent amount — reduce the dose until sudsing stops and use HE detergent (1 pod max, placed in the drum; remove the liquid cup for powder).
FE / E04 / E12 — Overfilling error

PE / E33 — Water level sensor error
LG lists PE (and E33) as a water level sensor error — the water level sensor is malfunctional. Unplug for 10 seconds, plug back in, and restart the cycle; if it persists, arrange service.
tE — Heating error
LG lists tE as a heating error, usually caused by a faulty thermistor. Unplug for 10 seconds, plug back in, press power, press spin-speed until “no spin”; once drained, restart. If it persists, close the water taps and unplug.
AE — Leakage error
LG lists AE as a leakage error — a problem with a leak inside the appliance; a safety switch activates to prevent flooding the floor. Check the inlet hose for loose connections or cuts; unplug, wait 60 seconds, restart; if it persists, arrange service.
SE — Sensor error

HE — Heater error

PF — Power failure

How to read LG codes on newer models
On newer LG washers the same faults can display under different names: OE, E03, and E21 all mean a drain error, and IE, E02, and E10 all mean a water-inlet error — your model shows whichever variant it uses. Per LG: OE/E03/E21 means the washer can’t drain the wash water — the manufacturer points to a kinked drain hose or a clogged drain pump filter. IE/E02/E10 means the tub didn’t fill in time — a closed or disconnected faucet, a bent or frozen water supply hose, or a clogged inlet filter. Use each code’s documented procedure
LG’s list gives a specific procedure and reset timing for each code — they are not interchangeable. For example, dE2/E30, tE, and PF each have different steps and different stop conditions.
