LG Washer Problems & Error Codes
LG washer problems, error codes, and fixes.
LG front-load washers report faults as letter codes (OE, IE, LE, dE and more). Start by matching the exact string on your display to the code list below, or work the no-code symptoms if the machine stops with nothing shown. LG's own code list states a meaning and a first procedure for each code — follow the steps for the exact code on your machine.
1. Start with the code on the display
- OE — Drain error Manufacturer-verified
- E03 — Drain error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- IE — Water inlet error Manufacturer-verified
- E02 — Water inlet error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- UE — Unbalance error Manufacturer-verified
- LE — Tub fails to spin Manufacturer-verified
- DE — Door error Manufacturer-verified
- FE — Overfilling error Manufacturer-verified
- tE — Heating error Manufacturer-verified
- PE — Water level sensor error Manufacturer-verified
- PF — Power failure Manufacturer-verified
- CE — Over-current error Manufacturer-verified
- Sud — Suds error Manufacturer-verified
- AE — Leakage error Manufacturer-verified
- SE — Sensor error Manufacturer-verified
- HE — Heater error Manufacturer-verified
- dHE — Dry-function error Manufacturer-verified
- E01 — Door error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- E30 — Door error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- E04 — Overfilling error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- E12 — Overfilling error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
- E33 — Water level sensor error (alt. display) Manufacturer-verified
Status is shown straight from each code's lookup record. "Partially verified" and "Unverified" entries are published as leads, not as confirmed meanings — check your model's manual before acting.

3. Find your model number
The rating plate is usually inside the door frame, on the tub side, or on the back panel. You need the full model number, not just the family — it is the only way to pull the exact manual, wiring diagram and parts list for your machine.
Enter the full model number in the manufacturer's own support search to download the manual: LG support & owner manuals. Use the manual's troubleshooting section for the code on your display, and its parts diagram to confirm fit before you buy anything. We don't promise a part is compatible — confirm the part number against your model at the retailer or the manufacturer.
